What inspired you to write?
Being the only girl amongst four boys, who wants to just sit and watch tv or do gaming the whole day can be a challenge. Wanted to do something different.

My family’s love for animals

What was the inspiration for The Day it Stopped Raining?
Water shortages in South Africa can be a challenge. Few years back, we were advised about water levels that are dropping, we were even advised to take a five-minute shower, but what could be the cause? With months of research and I got inspired to write “The Day it Stopped Raining” which is an environmental book about climate change.

What was the inspiration for Tumi’s Big Community Clean-up?
Small children’s school desks Danone made from upcycled yoghurt tubs and my kid’s asking lots of WHY’S about the small dumps found in most corners, that I couldn’t explain is what inspired this book which is a book about recycling.

Who was your favorite author/illustrator as a child?
I enjoyed a lot of storytelling by my mom and aunts, don’t ask me which stories, as I could almost swear, they made them up.

Climate change is real, littering is not an option.
